PDFluent is a free desktop PDF editor for macOS and Windows, released as public beta by Innovation Trigger B.V. Free for everyone, including commercial use. No account required, no subscription.
Handles viewing, text editing, annotation, redaction, signing with a user-supplied certificate, form filling, merging, splitting, page reordering, compression, password protection, watermarking, and conversion to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, image formats and PDF/A.
Privacy is explicit. No telemetry unless crash reporting is enabled. All processing happens on the user's own machine; document content never goes over the network.
Built with 48 crates of pure Rust, no C or C++ dependencies. Tested against 50,000 real-world PDFs with zero crashes. On a 5,000-document rendering test, 94 percent of files reached SSIM 0.95 or better against mutool.
Interface ships in 27 languages. A separate commercial SDK is available for developers.
