discord-screenaudio is an archived custom Discord client made to support screen sharing with audio on Linux. It was created for users who needed a workaround for audio streaming limitations in Linux Discord setups. The project feeds application audio directly into the screen share rather than routing it through the user’s microphone. It depends on PipeWire and was intended to be used alongside the official Discord client rather than as a full replacement. The maintainer no longer actively maintains it and recommends newer alternatives for most users. It remains useful as a reference for Linux screen-audio streaming, QtWebEngine client behavior, and unofficial Discord workaround design.
Features
- Linux screen sharing with audio
- PipeWire-based audio handling
