Chronicles of the Realm is an open-source interactive historical atlas that visualizes the territorial and political development of China from 403 BCE to the present. It combines geographic maps with a chronological timeline covering more than 2,400 years of history. Users can explore the rise and fall of dynasties, historical borders, administrative divisions, and competing states. The atlas includes 18 historical periods and 164 territorial snapshots. Interactive markers identify ancient cities, strategic mountain passes, battlefields, and culturally significant locations. A geographic genealogy system connects historical place names with their modern equivalents. The project also incorporates classical poetry routes, historical milestones, emperors, and reign periods. Its browser-based interface presents historical geography through interactive maps and chronological exploration.
