The bitcollider is a small utility that generates bitprints and metadata tags from files for lookup/submission at the Bitzi community metadata project. For more details, please see http://bitzi.com.
Bitzi.com closed at Dec 2013, so this utility is now useless.
False alarms by McAfee and Norton's are not to be trusted. The fact that it has been stable for a few years without any legitimate complaints from antivirus programs is more an indication of a false alarm in the AV scanners than it is a reason to worry about safety. Besides, this thing is open source. Anybody can check the source code and see for themselves that this utility does exactly what is intended and no more. For those of you getting false alarms, get the Java version and use that until the antivirus developers find and fix their bugs.
