At the very least the GUIs under xine control should be the same. > Also see next point I bet the priority in setup GUI is making it functional first. Making it skinnable could be done later. We all should agree that moving the configuration from the some "obscure" config file to the screen is such a BIG win for end users, no matter how beautiful the screen looks like. I would also say that Daniel and Guenter did quite some work to put the setup working the way it is. It's a bit unffair to complain about such recent feature... Instead i would ask people to take a look on setup options that currently only takes effect next time xine is initialized and, where possible, provide the necessary callbacks for on-the-fly changing. > - change from xine GUI controls (ie in windows) to all-OSD controls. Please be aware that currently is only possible to display overlays (including osd and subtitles) over frames. I mean, some work has to be done if you want to show something using osd and no video is being played. IMHO, this is a quite great change on the engine that couldn't be done at the 1.0 timeline... This is also the same reason as the oldest bug in our bugtracking system is "moving subtitles out of the picture". > - an icon for the video output window. Maybe you could share something about these buggy pts so we could try to sort this out... > There are probably lots more, so join in. Could someone compile them into a > single list. I'm not regularly online so I might not be the best suited. Having a todo list may be useful, specially when talking about stabilizing all that new stuff that came in over the last weeks for 1.0 (osd, fonts, sputext, config, etc). regards, Miguel Freitas |
