[xine-user] Playback of any media halts

I have repeatedly experienced the same problem playing back any media
supported by xine:

The video playback is fine for about four to five minutes into a dvd or an
mpeg, then the playback just stops. Program does not crash or lock X
up. Box in question runs Slackware 7 and X 4.0.2 with DRI support for a
Voodoo3 3000 PCI. Any ideas?
