Hello, Thanks, for your reply. > I've gotten my PII-400 with TNT2 card to work relatively well, but there > were still noticable jerks here and there. It really takes some "work" to > get the P120 to play decent DVDs. Do you know how it has been configured to work decently ? > Two VERY DUMB questions : > 1) I'd tryed installing Nvidia drivers, but I don't know if I actually > succeeded. How do I find out? Well, I don't know. But I've readed on Nvidia web site the readme file to configure GeForce3 under XFree. I was planning to buy this video card. Well, I suppose that if you add in you XF86Setup-4 script nvidia driver, and xfree start with that line, then it'ok. :) Sorry, can't help more. > 2) How to configure Xine to play fullscreen DVD video? I've never used Xine, and I'm looking for software that can play dvd video on linux before buying a DVD. But they have some words about your question in Xine FAQ and README : xine plays audio but I don't see a picture ------------------------------------------ [...] If you're using Xv and the video output stays blank, try moving the window around or toggling fullscreen ("F" key). There is a bug in overlay setup [FIXME]. - xine needs either MIT-SHM (The MIT Shared Memory Extension), which is supported in XFree86 for quite some time (3.3.x will be fine), or X-Video Extension (Xv) which is faster and supports fullscreen operation but is only provided by some XFree86 4.x drivers. nVidia chips and Matrox G200 and G400 are known to work.
