Summary: DVD: xine lib 1.1.0 mutes wave surround for every video

Initial Comment:
Problem: 
When a DVD video starts playing (movie, documentary,
etc) it mutes "wave surround." 

Software:
Xine lib 1.1.0 compiled on Fedora Core 4.  Using Alsa
1.0.9x, kernel 2.6.13-1.1532_FC4.  The problem occurs
with gxine 0.48, 0.49, 0.50, xine 0.99.4.

To reproduce:
1. Make sure wave surround is on
2. Start a DVD with xine, gxine
3. Select the movie or video
4. When video starts, rear speakers mute

Example:  I am using Indiana Jones and the Last Cursade:
Have sound panel open and wave not muted, start movie
with play button, MPAA rating screen shows, then button
click sound effect occurs when wave surround mutes when
THX video starts.

Expected results:
Sound controls should remain unmuted a after a video is
selected.

Additional info:  I do not have "retore volume at
startup" selected.

Stopped using FC4, however the issue doesn't occur with
current builds of xine lib and ui and gxine.

Got that too. Very annoying :(

I sometime manage to get it right, but actually it takes
ages, and so, I have not been able to make it reproducable :/
