Category: audio output problems Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Duplicate Priority: 6 Submitted By: stephen mirowski (spmirowski) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Xine lib 1.1.1, H.264 sound distorted/missing. Initial Comment: Problem: For lots of Apple 480p/720p trailers, the sound is partially missing, muted and has the slow mode deep voice affect. Software: Fedora Core 4 Kernel 2.6.13-1.1532_FC4 Gnome 2.12 xine-lib-1.1.1 xine-ui-0.99.4 gxine-0.5 alsa-lib-1.0.9rf-2.FC4 alsa-utils-1.0.9rf-2.FC4 alsa-lib-devel-1.0.9rf-2.FC4 Details: My computer is slow enough that 720p videos usually require 100% cpu to run, still chops. With the affected trailers with xine-lib 1.1.1, processor ranges between 11 - 60% usage. Sound is distorted/muted, frame rate drops considerably, the video time counter jumps back and forth a few seconds to keep synched. Affected (Tested) videos: King Kong Trailer, The Fountain Teaser, Memoirs of a Geisha Trailers, Transporter 2, V for Vendetta Trailer, etc. Working: King Kong Teaser, (Apple HD demos: BBC Africa, Warren Millers, etc.) (Note: Apple HD demos play better than before, they had pink and green artifacting with lib 1.1.0, almost completely gone now). Expected output: smooth, artifact free video, with sychronized sound without distortions. Addition notes: when running gxine or xine from the console, there is no output concerning problems related to this. xine-check reports all good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Darren Salt (dsalt) Date: 2006-07-10 22:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=294680 See 1371361 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: stephen mirowski (spmirowski) Date: 2006-03-13 04:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=938331 I get sound if I change xine to pass through too. Still the progress meter still doesn't work correctly. Still jumps around. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: dacleric (dacleric) Date: 2006-01-06 00:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1420500 The problems seems to be the audio codec. Same problems with this one: AMOVIE_MP4_AVC_x264.mp4 Length: 1:43:10 Mime: video/mp4 Audio: HE-AAC 5.1 (libfaad) 0kb/s Video: H.264/AVC (ffmpeg) 720x324 When i set the xine engine settings to paththrough everythin is fine (if my speakers could decode it) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1357709&group_id=9655 |
