Category: None Group: v1.1.1 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nicholas Killewald (captainspam) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: The xine libraries cannot play old Ogg Vorbis files Initial Comment: When attempting to play music with amaroK via the xine engine (using xine-lib 1.1.1, Gentoo Portage package 1.1.1-r5, the most recent in Portage), it appears that xine cannot play older Ogg Vorbis files at all. Any other amaroK engine, ogg123, XMMS, et al will play the files properly, but nothing using the xine libraries (including gxine) will play them. They all dump the same message, "libvorbis: this bitstream does not contain vorbis audio data." Looking over the bug list, this seems very similar to Bug #892508. However, the report for that bug claimed it was fixed in a later release. Unfortunately, it appears the problem's back again. I have attached a sample problem file (assuming SourceForge's bug report software allows Oggs as attachments). ogginfo claims this was made by "Xiphophorus libVorbis I 20010225 (1.0 beta 4)" (it was; I was using that version at the time). The sound clip should sound like a series of electronically-made dings. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-04-28 07:50 Message: Logged In: NO I can confirm that it is the same for me. After "handapplying" the patch provided with the old bug the old ogg vorbis files play. The patch will no longer apply but it is only a one-liner, increasing a buffer size. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1465298&group_id=9655 |
