Category: video output problems Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Intel 915GM OpenGL wrong color output Initial Comment: Setup: h/w: Intel 915GM (on-board gfx) chipset Fedora Core 2, kernel 2.6.5 Libxine 1.0.1 xine-ui 0.99.3 DRI video drivers, with h/w accelerated 3d X.org 6.8.2 Problem: -V opengl does not generate the correct colors. It appears to be missing the blue component. Xine is stable and plays the mpeg, but the colors are broken. I believe the 915 has pixel shaders, but I'm not sure. Also - -V xv has a banding issue - the right half of the image is not displayed correctly. Instead it shows 10-12 identical vertical strips of the first 20-ish pixels of the right half of the image. The left half of the image is fine. Is this a problem in the xv support of the chip? -V xshm works correctly, colors are right and there's no banding. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: The Jon (thejonreally) Date: 2006-04-07 14:10 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1345065 I am getting a similar thing - Xine seems to be damaging Xorg's palette somehow, on a 915 chipset (Fedora Core 3 but everything updated). The result is that any video playback, eg. with mplayer, inherits the wrong colour scheme and I have to restart X to get it back where it was. xvattr has no effect at all, and in fact doesnt seem to support half the needed functions. Just what do Xine and mplayer have in common to exhibit this behaviour ? Oh, and running KDE desktop too.
