Category: video output problems Group: v1.0 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Thomas Otto (thomas_otto) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Xvid playback stutter Initial Comment: When playing back certain xvid files the playback stutters quite often, as described before here: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=9924141 "I've got a few streams (AVI with XviD/mp3) here that make xine stutter and drop audio at certain positions, just as if the CPU were hopelessly overloaded. However, top shows 50% idle." [here even 90% idle] Yet this is unfortunately the only reference I could find. I have truncated one of these files to show one of these stutters (starting credits of a movie): http://www.hetepsenusret.net/files/tmp/ xine_xvid_playback_stutter_at_31s dot avi (9MB) This file (full or just this part) plays fine in mplayer or vlc, yet it could be "broken" somehow, before the mark mplayer says "[mpeg4 @ 0x85b5bc8]vop not coded: 0.004 528/528 11% 6% 0.9% 5 0 49%". Nonetheless it continues playback with no complaints where xine stutters. xine only has these problems when one does not forward i.e. plays the 31 seconds uninterrupted, so it seems rather like a buildup problem than one specific to certain parts of the file. My system is a Debian/Sarge, using Xorg and alsa, emu10k1 driver. This bug showed up in v1.0 (debian .debs) and selfcompiled v1.1 of xinelib. Two other persons could reproduce this on two other systems so far (only v1.0 xinelib) so it's probably not just something local. Im using xinetic yet other xine frontends like kdes kaffeine show the same behaviour. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1265313&group_id=9655 |
