Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: G.K.MacGregor (gkmac) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: xine-lib 1.0.2 and 1.1.0 won't play MJPG AVIs correctly Initial Comment: The latest 1.0.2 and 1.1.0 versions of xine-lib do not play AVIs from my digital camera correctly. Versions up to and including 1.0.1 (and of course mplayer) had no problems. My camera records videos as MJPG (Motion JPEG) AVI's in a choice of 15fps or 30fps (frames per second), xine-lib plays these improperly in different ways. 15fps AVIs play jerkily, the video plays at half speed and regularly jerks forwards (like it's playing catchup) about twice a second. 30fps AVIs play at the normal frame rate, but the first second plays the video at half speed for about half a second before playing normally. But since the sound still plays normally throughout, the audio and video end up badly out of sync; the audio being about half a second ahead of the video. It is only MJPG AVIs from my camera that suffer this, all other AVIs and other types of videos play fine. I've uploaded a couple of videos that demonstrate this, both are 7Mb each. http://www.gkmac.co.uk/stuff/descent-15fps.avi The camera pans gradually throughout this clip, panning fastest at the end which looks terrible due to the jerkiness. http://www.gkmac.co.uk/stuff/wallflip-30fps.avi The man running obviously shows the slowness of initial playback, and the crashmat landing demonstrates lack of a/v sync. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1253642&group_id=9655 |
