Summary: Open subtitles hangs

Initial Comment:
When subtitles file is selected and Select button is
pressed, then GUI hangs and all xine must be killed.
Playing video with subtitles from command line is OK.

UI  0.99.3, MDK 10.1 Official

I had the same problem with SUSE, but I got it working by
installing the latest xine-lib and xine-ui. Actually I had
installed a newer version xine-lib to get XVid working.
After that the subtitles didn't work and xine-ui needed a
re-install.

I have the same problem on gentoo with xine-lib 1.0.1 and xine-ui 0.99.3 and 
on Slackware 10.1.
