The error I get is this: xine: simple.c:1466: snd_mixer_selem_get_playback_volume: Assertion `elem->type == SND_MIXER_ELEM_SIMPLE' failed. I have attached the result of xine -A alsa --bug-report ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Michael Roitzsch (mroi) Date: 2004-06-30 19:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=552060 Everybody with this problem, please try with the latest 1-rc5 release of xine-lib and report back, if this bug is still present. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Miguel Freitas (miguelfreitas) Date: 2004-06-03 15:43 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=148691 i think i might have fixed this bug. may anybody please give the xine-lib cvs a try so i can close it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: David Fox (dsf) Date: 2004-05-13 23:57 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=5242 This happens specifically on machines with the CMedia CMI9739 mixer, which has no way to control the pcm volume. Presumably some handle that almost always shows up on machines with working PCM volume controls doesn't show up, and Xine can't handle it. This should be easy enough to track down. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2004-05-13 21:01 Message: Logged In: NO Testing LinspireOS 4.5.397-OEM w/ Xine 0.9.21 and Xine-dec 0.1-1 Same crash behavior as described in this original bug report. This appears to be isolated on systems with C-Media Electronics CMI9739 mixer in my testing.
