Hi, I was wondering, are there any plans to improve pulldown detection in xine's tvtime deinterlace plugin? In particular, it only works for 3:2 pulldown. Unfortunately, if you live in a PAL world (which uses 2:2 pulldown usually for film sources), this is completely useless... dscaler seems to be the only open-source project which can do it. (This would be very useful for things like vdr using xinelib to decode the video, since quite a lot of the DVB content streamed is really progressive, but there's no way to detect this since you can just forget the progressive frame flag - some HD channels (which always transmit for instance in 720p50) may set this but I believe no SD channel ever will have that flag set. It's a bit annoying you'd have to disable/enable the deinterlacer manually whenever you change the channel or the content changes for best quality...). Roland |
