my crystal ball is sometimes wrong, but I guess you have tried to play
rtsp stream?

There is just basic support for rtsp in xine and encapsulation over HTTP
(and possibility using proxy) wasn't implemented yet IMHO.

But you can use MMS protocol over HTTP with xine.
