Hello, I'm new to this list, so I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere previously, but I didn't see anything about it. Essentially, I've been looking for an equivalent to the -alang command line option in MPlayer or the --audio-language command line option for VLC. --audio-channel wasn't really what I was looking for, as I needed this to automatically choose an English track if one existed, since I run it with a remote control on a MythTV machine. I took a look in the code for a while, and implemented it for myself. I'd like to submit a patch to xine-ui for the feature, if nothing like this already exists, but I'm not too familiar with the rest of the code base. Right now I'm just storing the command line parameter and in _gui_xine_play() if the stream parameter XINE_PARAM_AUDIO_CHANNEL_LOGICAL is -1, it loops through each audio channel and compares the language of each channel with the parameter, and if there is a match it changes XINE_PARAM_AUDIO_CHANNEL_LOGICAL to that channel. It seems as if there should be a better way to do this though, honestly. Anyway, I thought I would send out an e-mail to this list to get some proper feedback on the idea. Thank you, -- Derek |
