[xine-user] How Do I Use Xine ?

 To Whom It May Concern,

 I am a recent newbie to Linux. I am running Mandrake
Linux 9.2. 

Here is my platform info :
Intel Pentium 4 2.40GHz
Motherboard Intel 82801BA
Video ATI Radeon 9000
Video Monitor Princeton Graphics EO900f
Pioneer DVD-ROM Atapi Model DVD-120S
Sound Card Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live!
(driver emu10k1)

Yes, I read all of the text in the FAQ's. However,
most 
of it is greek to me. I have a good understanding of
computer hardware, and associated troubleshooting. 
No, I don't know anything about software and/or
programming. I've never done any kind of programming.
So all those lines of code that you have placed on
those pages mean nothing to me. 
All I'd really like to know is how to watch movies and
listen to audio cd's using Xine. ( But if I have to
any of that programming stuff I'll have to hire a
programmer ) 
Is what I want to do possible ? Or should I just erase
my harddrive and go back to Windows ?
