Thank you for the information. The problem I have with this particular DVD is that it is in 4:3 on the DVD but it is a widescreen edition. So they encoded the black bars on the DVD itself. I used libdvdnav to analyze the structure and it says it is 4:3. Also in the ifo_types there is a flag letterboxed, but this one is always set to 0 apparently. So I'm guessing for this particular DVD I would have to have the user ask for cropping and won't be able to have the frontend do it automatically. Anyone could confirm ? Then we go on the other questions, how do I do that using libxine API.
