I really don't understand this. The subject "Re: [xine-user] 'make install' relinks .la files" says one thing, and the contents of the email say another! If you are having sound problems, then please fist send the list the entire output from the console while the problem occurs. From that, we will get a first pointer as to what is wrong. Also, include a good description of the problem, and details of how to reproduce it.
