Sorry for the delay in my response. I appreciate all the help so far. Anyhow, I have tried switching my video display from 24bpp to 16bpp with no better results. As for the questions regarding my source mpeg files... I have noticed this problem with some music videos that I have downloaded off the net. Most recently, I've been using xine and gmplayer to view the mpeg streams off my ReplayTV. I have saved streams from my ReplayTV 3030 as well as my 5040, both resulting in the same problem. Most other mpeg streams play just fine in xine. I would also like to note that Windows players (MusicMatch, MS Media Player, and some versions of RealPlayer) have problems decoding the stream as well. I have been successfully able to play these streams in gmplayer on the same Linux machine I've been trying to use xine on, as well as with WinDVD on a different Windows machine. If you still want a sample, you can download one at: http://www.bekas.org/john/sample.mpg (488M) If you want a smaller sample, please let me know the duration you want and I'll record a smaller one. I apologize if ReplayTV uses a non-standard mpeg encoding and xine does not want to support it. It's odd that some players can read the stream correctly while others have issues with it. Thanks again for your help! John |
