I'm looking for people where a certain combination of hardware and software works, and since xine is a part of that combination, I hope this is on-topic here. I have the following hardware: Abit VP6 dual cpu motherboard (VIA 694 chipset) Videologic Digitheatre DTS 5.1 decoder/speakers Soundblaster Live 5.1 soundcard and the following software: linux-2.4.21-pre1 with alsa-0.9.0rc6 drivers/library/utilities linux-2.5.50 with builtin-alsa drivers xine-0.9.13 (latest from debian-testing) If I try to use the digital out so I can get 5.1 sound from Xine, after one or more minutes I get a few repeating bursts of static, and my whole computer hangs hard. Now I've read the FAQ, and I know this isn't xine's fault, but I would like to know if anybody has gotten this combination of SMP-kernel, Soundblaster Live and digital out working correctly. If you have it working, please get back to me - I'd like to compare some thing (which slot is the soundblaster in, /proc/interrupt output, etc.). Thanks, Jurriaan -- I never deny, I never contradict. I sometimes forget. Benjamin Disraeli GNU/Linux 2.4.21-pre1 SMP/ReiserFS 2x1402 bogomips load av: 0.95 0.29 0.09 |
