Hmmm, Isn't this the same problem Gene French was having with his built in
DVD drive in his A30? He proved it was a drive--decss/driver relationship
problem by replacing the drive with a PCMCIA external one. (You could also
try that if you can borrow one easily.)

Just thinking back to the list, sorry I couldn't be more help.
