If I don't use --disable-altivec I get Assembler messages: Error: invalid switch -m7400 much earlier. I guess the point here is I'm using GNU assembler 2.9.5 (of Debian 2.2r6) which doesn't understand -m7400 or opcodes like `vspltish'. That's fine for me because my CPU doesn't have these instructions. I would only like the xine build process to behave under these circumstances. |
