If you want digital sound here's a great way to get it
for free. Pick up an ond SB Live! card, easy enough to
find with all the new Audigy's and stuff, a regular
internal audio wire (like one that goes from cd-rom ->
sound card inside your box), and a reglar RCA jack.
That migte be the hardest to find, really. From there
head to http://listen.to/sblive, and follow the
step-by-step instructions from the "Building an S/PDIF
out for Live! value" section. With the latest ALSA asd
Xine CVS it works great. All you need is a soldering
gun and a friend upgrading his system, and you get
dgital sound, including DTS passthrough.
