Thanks for the info, I've messed with the xvid codec a bit more and gotten 
some better results. Would you be able to send me an example command line 
that you typically use.
Do you have problems with the aspect ratio? xvid always seems to store the 
ratio as 1:1, admitedly all I have to do for xine is hit the a key once, but 
it's a bit of a pain, and not all players have that option.
