Hi, I'm looking for something to compress mpeg video's (from tv and dvd) into a decent quality format that I can playback on xine and hopefully some other players too. I've tried transcode, but I've had virtually no success in creating anything xine is willing to play (I've tried following the examples to the character), the best result I've had so far is demultiplexing the mpeg and passing it to ffmpeg to create mpeg4 - even then the aspect ratio is wrong. Has anyone had better experiences with transcode and knows what the trick might be? Can anyone suggest any other video encoding tools for linux? -- Chris Jensen ch...@dr...
