Not at all. Unless there are any special features, the .VOB file is just a plain MPEG-2 stream. You even save the effort of interpreting any .IFO code if you play the file directly, so if it affects performonce at all, it shouldn't make it worse. As many people pointed out before, this simple method will fail utterly as soon as there's more than one MPEG stream in the .VOB, due to DVD-multiangle or special features, but that was not your question ;-) Cheers, Siggi |
