I am using a PIII 866 with an NVidia GeForce II and the latest official = drivers from NVidia on Redhat 7.1. After configuring XINE to use the Xv output plugin, playback was = excellent using version 0.5.2 and the appropriate dmd input plugin. However, having upgraded to 0.9.7, mainly interested in the bug fixes I = have found that even with the same configuration I now have not jumpy, = but almost wavy output. Those frames which are delivered all arrive very = quickly, then output slows and stops and then bursts again. This happens = approximately once a second, although it does vary. I am still using the = Xv output. Audio is perfect through OSS. Output was smooth without using the Xv output (I have recently = reinstalled the machine and put xine on before the nvidia display = drivers.), but required heavy processor use and wouldn't keep up full = screen. Reinstalling has not had any major effect, as I have gone back = to 0.5.2 for now and it works fine. Anyone have any ideas, cos 0.9.7 did look a lot nicer and I would really = like to use it.
