There is no difference if you are using WinMerge in business or at home. Strictly speaking WinMerge is not freeware. But WinMerge is Open Source [1]. And WinMerge is using GNU Public License (GPL) [2][3]. GPL License text is always distributed with WinMerge sources and binaries. If you are only using binaries there is nothing to worry about.
