Hi, lookin' at the sources, it seems it is only possible to resize windows from the bottom... is that right, or does anyone know how to resize a window make top grow ? then, is there a way to resize in only one direction at a time ? for eg, using the 'window.handle' to change height only. Thanks for answers, Jo |

Hi, I installed Waimea a few days ago. I followed the installation manual on the site but for some reason opacity doesn't work for me! I tried making some styles with different opacities but that doesn't work for me, even styles I downloaded from the waimea.org site don't work correctly :( Am I missing a library or something like that? I use Red Hat 8.0 and installed the latest waimea version. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: je gratis e-mail ! http://www.msn.be/hotmail |

i sometimes use a system that has a tablet and run a soft keyboard
application (xkbd) and/or a handwriting recognizer (xscribble) instead
of using a real keyboard.
the way these things work is they use the X test extension to allow an
application to stuff keystrokes into the server's input buffer which
goes to whatever window is on top.
i've been using waimea 0.4.0 for a while now and really like it;
however, i can't seem to figure out what action file to use/edit in
order to get the desired behavior.
basically, with action.sloppy-focus, as soon as i mouse into the
xkbd/xscribble window, focus moves from the window where i want the
input to go. similarly with action.click-to-focus.
so, can someone advise me on the magic i need to put in the action file
(preferrably sloppy-focus) so that "the right thing happens"?
thanks!

hi. waimea is very cool. i've been pounding on it for a while and only
one crash!
i'm using waimea 0.4.0. dock apps like "gkrellm -w" and "wmdrawer"
work just fine. but a couple of apps i have that use the KDE3 method of
declaring themselves to go into the system tray don't dock (in fact,
they don't even map).
glancing at the 0.4.0 source, there seems to be a fair number of
references to the magic KDE atoms and the systray.
so, is the code incomplete or should i start some serious debugging?
thanks,
/mtr
ps: actually, it's not just programs that do KDE-style docking. gabber,
which claims to do both gnome/kde status docking also doesn't get
something put in the dock...

Hi all!
I've just found out about waimea, installed and configured it. Looks
really cool, could become my fav windowmanager.
But I have a few problems in getting waimea configured the way I want to
;-)
First, is there a way to restrict the TaskSwitcher to the windows of the
current desktop? As default it cycles through all windows of all
desktops. Bit I'd rather switch desktops with hot-keys and then switch
between only those windows of the corresponding desktop.
Then I took the "Click to focus, non-opaque" action file as a basis for
my own configuration. It's quite nice, but there is one thing left
that's not exactly how I would like it: when I click on a window it gets
the focus and is raised. But the click itself is not passed to the
application of that window. What I'd like to do is to click a link in
the browser or position the cursor in emacs with the same mouse click I
use to focus the window. Is that possible?
And last thing is that I don't understand how to use the dock. As a
simple example I'd like to use the wampager (BTW, what means "[-snap
BUTTON] [-exact BUTTON]"?). But I don't see a dock, nor do I know how to
start wampager to be placed in a dock. The dock configuration I left
unchanged wrt. the sample config file...
That's it for now, hope someone is able to help me.
Thanks in advance,
Ingo

Hi, I checked out waimea a few days ago and really liked it. I even considered a full switch from Window Maker. But the problem is that Waimea does not like Plugger=B9---a plugin fo= r Netscape & Mozilla which swallows other applications to display data. If Plugger gets loaded everything is fine until I press a mouse button inside the swallowed window. My system will hang and even Ctrl-Alt-Backspace will not work. (But it is still possible to do a remote login and kill waimea) I don't know why but somehow waimea seems to catch all keyboard and mouse events, so I can't control my system anymore. Hopefully we/you/somebody can solve this problem, because I really like waimea. Greetings, Rob. [1] http://fredrik.hubbe.net/plugger.html PS: I'm on a FreeBSD box, if that matters. --=20 ___________________________ r o b e r t | l i l l a c k www.lillaxsitedesign.de/rob secure mail key: 0xE7FFDF77 jabberID: no...@ja... |
