Hi. First, I'm glad my 1st mail didn't reached because I was not registered: turns out the answer to my question would have been a good old RTFM, which have some mentions about the xlinks feature. Now, I find it quite confusing and hard to use, for the following reasons: * it is required to drag the link, which does not works well when the destination is far from origin * sometimes, the endpoint of the link just "does not stick", no idea why * there is no indication that the endpoint will stick * sometimes, it places some weird edge with a circle. I suppose those are "trigger" to manipulate bezier curves, but it is, so far, never what I wanted to do * cancelling the "trigger" addition really cancels the last meaningful action, and there is no way to just remove the annoying triggers Would someone be kind enough to help me around those points? I discovered Vym (and mindmappers) recently, and so far I really like it, this (xlinks) is the 1st thing I meet which gives me troubles (enough so that I give a closer look at manual), other that that I really like having a tool to quickly drag, drop and edit nodes of a graph (too bad it's a tree, but hey, one deals with what one have, plus the xlinks can fix that issue), without requiring a webbrowser or any technology subject to breaking regularly (or when you need to be offline, or use an old computer, or...). Great bonus point, it's even packaged into debian! Note that the manual is nice, the fact to have it in the package is, also, a very refreshing thing, but it could probably be improved, it's a bit, pardon me, "messy" as it is. I mean, it's hard to quickly find the information one is searching for in there, for me at least. It's late, so I'll just send this message for now, and thanks again for the great tool. |
