1)" debugger -> debugger" why not change it to '调试器', which is known to as many people as the word 'debugger'? 2)Under some circumstances, I think we should have some flexibility in translating 'scroll'. e.g. when translating 'Scroll the screen [count] characters to the left.', I personally think 'scroll' should be interpreted as '卷动' or 滚动', rather than '滚屏'. 3)I also think that sometimes we can translate GUI as '图形界面', which is more common to we Chinese people. :) 4)should add: Backspace -> 退格键 5)IMHO, the translation for 'Pattern' is not proper. '式样' or '样式' may be better. Also we can add english words to our translation to reduce confusion to the lowest amount, just as '样式'(pattern) 6)'key mapping -> key mapping' but what about 'mapping the keys'? would '映射键盘' make sense? You are on Windows. This is a scp url. So you probably need a scp client - say winscp2. And then try to connect to shell.sourceforge.net with your id and password. You will see a sorta ftp client interface where you have local listing and remote listing. From the remote listing, go to the directory above and copy that file. For Linux user, this should be easier. Simply do: scp us...@sh...:/bla . Guys, Are you having problem with the Chinese quotation marks? It looks like I am anyway. Any line that contain a Chinese quotation mark will be rendered wrong. And when you move the cursor along the line, text appears to change places. Currently, I stick with English ones. What do you see? I think XP is OK. lang2 -- Simon Liang wzh...@sp... -- http://www.fastmail.fm - A no graphics, no pop-ups email service |

All > in all, the user manual changes little, but the reference manual > doesn't. ( e.g. in Ver6.2, new items added to gui_w32.txt, etc ) OK then. I didn't notice that. And that is why I changed the project description to 6.x to allow a mixture of 6.1 and 6.2 document to coexist. When I review documents, I only changed the version number after I go through the full translation. So maybe the rule should be: 1. If any new document is to be translated, start from a 6.2 one. 2. Any translated ones remain as it is until it is reviewed _and_ updated against 6.2 version. Is this approach OK? I think installing a mixtur of 6.1 and 6.2 documentation is OK because 6.2 is mainly a bug fix release and not many new features are introduced. lang2 -- Simon Liang wzh...@sp... -- http://www.fastmail.fm - IMAP accessible web-mail |
