No

Sonic saved on a .d2m disk in the Native partition, it can be loaded in Fastload mode when RamLink emulation is enabled.

Without RamLink Sonic loads (from fd2000 native) only in Compatible mode.

Loading Sonic from the Native RamLink partition with the Fastload option is also possible

You can load Sonic from the CMDHD drive with the Fastload option. (it doesn't matter if RamLink is enabled or not)

I have no way of checking if it is the same on real HW.

    I have a clone of fd2000 (fnx1592),
from it I can only load SONIC in Compatible mode from HD floppy (native partition).
And Fastload mode only works from DD floppy formatted in CBM1581 mode
Unfortunately I do not have RamLink.

Yeah someone needs to test this on the real hardware first

Sorry, I'm not really sure what the issue is. I assume it does or doesn't load with some drives in emulation.
What does a D2M files have to do with RAMLink?

From what I remember, I noticed a strange relationship between the FD2000 and the native .d2m partition, the Sonic game, and RamLink.

If RamLink is disabled, the game cannot be loaded by selecting Fastload in the game. Only CompatibleLoad works for the FD2000.

If I run RamLink, the game will load in Fastload mode from the native FD2000 partition.

Is this correct and expected behavior?

The game manual suggests that you should select Compatible for the CMD drive.

      =
RamLink is only turned on and off, it does not contain any files or partitions.
