I am wondering if someone could please help me out - even some suggestions would be very much appreciated.
I have been using TrueCrypt / VeraCrypt for years, and I very much love the software. I currently have 3 laptops and 2 desktops fully encrypted using system and disk encryption in my household.
I just purchased a brand new Lenovo X1 Carbon, and I am having a lot of issues with encrypting this darn thing!
I am running VeraCrypt 1.19. I installed Windows 10 Pro using MBR / non-UEFI (have it disabled in BIOS with secure boot disabled). [Reinstalled the computer from scratch after I got it]
I tried full-disk system encryption. However, when I restart, I enter my password, and then I'm greeted with a completely blank screen and no signs of Windows starting.
Luckily I had my rescue disk available, and using this I can boot into Windows fine and decrypt the SSD, at which point things boot fine again.
I tried system encryption of Windows only partition, same problem.
I tried disabling TPM and other security options in the BIOS, but still no luck. I thought I had figured out the problem when I had "Windows Boot Manager" as the first boot option, and changed it to my SSD only, but STILL no go.
It seems that the Veracrypt boot loader works fine, but after that my SSD cannot be detected? Sometimes I get a blank screen, sometimes I get some error about an M.2 drive error or not being detected. But after I boot from USB rescue disk and disable Veracrypt, it works fine again.
Please any suggestions would be very much appreciated??
Thanks so much!!

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Hello,
MBR version with new notebook model is not good idea. I guess memory mapping problem. Probably Windows does not have enough memory (below 1MB) to start in old legacy mode.
Try to use 1.20B2 with UEFI mode. Or 1.20B2p1.
