VeraCrypt 1.26.29 – Hibernation resume still broken on Windows 11 25H2 (system-encrypted drive)

The release notes for 1.26.29 mention a fix for clean installs of Windows 11 25H2, but the hibernation resume issue persists for me.

Environment:

  • VeraCrypt 1.26.29

  • Windows 11 25H2

  • Full system drive encryption

Behavior:

  • Resume from hibernation starts normally (VeraCrypt pre-boot prompt appears)

  • After password entry, the system falls back after 10 seconds to a cold start instead of restoring the hibernated session

To confirm that VeraCrypt is the cause, I fully decrypted the system drive and verified that hibernation resume works correctly without encryption. The issue only occurs when the drive is fully encrypted with VeraCrypt 1.26.29.

This regression appeared in spring 2025 (following a Windows 11 update?). The fix described in 1.26.29 does not appear to resolve it. Happy to provide additional logs or test builds if that would help.
