Hi-I'm creating VeraCrypt Container for an external hard drive, which is mounted currently on drive F. I followed the Beginner's Tutorial and created the Volume file (.hc file) on the F drive. I'm at the point where the new volume will be mounted, but drive F is not included on the list of available drives to choose. Not sure how to proceed, since I need the volume to be on drive F. Thank you.

You cannot use the Windows OS drive letters that are currently being used for attached drives.
Your external drive is already using the F drive letter. Hence, you cannot mount any type of VeraCrypt volume to the existing F drive letter that is in use by Windows or VeraCrypt.
The only solution to mount the VeraCrypt File Container to the letter F is to permanently change the current external drive letter F to another available drive letter using Windows "Create and format hard disk partitions".
Google search how to change a Windows drive letter.

I didn't care if VeraCrypt was mounted to F or not, I assumed that it would need to be mounted to the external drive, which is mounted as F. I tried using a different available letter but the install failed.
I uninstalled VeraCrypt, doesn't seem to be what I am looking for. Thanks for trying to help, appreciate your time.
