I'm using Unreal3.1.1 and i have a question.  I accidentally set a =
Z-line while i was playing with a proxy program.  It says' i can't =
connect due to bad socks:

This is the error in mIRC..I've looked all over the docs, and all =
through the files.  I can't find it anywhere.  Can you enlighten me on =
where this info is being stored by the ircd so i can delete it in the =
future.  I know the Z-line will expire by the time you reply to this, =
but it would be helpful in the future.

Hi :)

I am just wondering how servers running Unreal synchronise when they connect
to each other.  We've been using cn5.2.04 which uses net.burst to synch
which is supposed to be the quickest and most efficient way of doing it.  It
reduces the amount of information exchanged between the two servers when
they synch, to a minimum, which speeds it up.  We're now 'thinking' of
upgrading to UnrealIRCD as we tried it and the users liked it.  :)  I just
basically want to know which method is the better, the Unreal or the cn ircd
method we are using now.

Hopefully you'll prove me wrong  :P

Ok, I have been told that to get an irc.smarthack.com I need to download a server program, which u guys provide.  I have got no idea how to set this up.  All I know is that the server runs on unix.  I have been told I need to telnet into it and compile and configure it.  Please if you can explain this to me I would much appreciate it, thanks

Aloha...

My name is Burgandy...recently, I registered a Domain with others...and
since this time, the Co Owner has moved from box to box...finding
stability...or something, who knows.  I am still learning and am not sure
how to Open an Ircd on my own.

I know my questions are rather broad...but if You could lead me to any

What do you use to connect via ssl to an unreal irc server?  I have been
messing around with stunnel (an ssl tunnel) without any luck.  It gives me
errors(such as unknown protocol versions or timeouts).  In the doc/crypto.doc,
it sounds like you have to connect via normal irc then initiate the crytp, so
I'm a bit confused.  A bit of help would be appreciated.

Included is unreal.tar.gz which contains all my config files, in addition to
ircd.log which is logging a weird error when I try to boot the daemon.

Any help would be GREATELY appreciated, looks like yall have again created
another awesome IRC daemon.

I tried uninstalling the Win32 3.0 version from the control panel, 
but I kept getting an error of:

"The log file 'C:\Program Files\UnrealIRCd\DelsL2.isu' is not valid
or the data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue."

There was also toward the end of the installation process also, so 
maybe that had something to do with it. However, every time I try 
downloading and installing 3.0 again to see if the uninstallation 
would work, I kept getting the same error. I also tried to install the 
3.1 version over it but to no avail, since DelsL2.isu file was not 
replaced. Is there a replacement file that I could get or something I 
could do in order to uninstall it properly? Thanks.

It seems to have installed correctly but it doens't want to be launched from 
root. Could you tell me how to use the "setuid" procedure so that I may launch 
this program from root?

I hate asking such a stupid question as this, but where do I start now that I 
have UnrealIRCd? I've got my own IP, and when I tried to connect to it, I got 
a "Connection refused" notice. So, could someone PLEASE show me how to at
