Justinas, It is possible to build natively in Windows, but quite painful. I try to keep on top of the CMake chain, but as the released Windows build is cross-compiled with mingw-cross-env, it will probably be missing a few pieces. I'll be glad to help if you have questions. -Brendan Justinas Gražulis wrote: > Hello, > > My name is Justinas Grazulis. Hello, My name is Justinas Grazulis. I wish to introduce myself here, since I submitted a GSoC proposal for your organization project idea "Migrate Tux Math and t4k_common to SDL 2.0". (link: https://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/proposal/review/google/gsoc2012/as_justis/8002 ) I am very looking forward to get involved in your community despite the fact that I have submitted a proposal very late. I hope to show that I am worth working with you during the summer in the upcoming week. Did somebody managed to compile tuxmath on windows? I read that it's possible, but is it really so bad, that I should install Linux? :D Kind Regards, -- Justinas Gražulis |

*Hello Mentors, I am Ritisha Laungani, a pre-final year student, currently persuing Information Systems MSc. Tech. at BITS Pilani, Goa, India. I would like to work with Tux4Kids for Wallpaper Tool Project under GSoC 2012. Mentioning more about myself- I have a strong background in C as i have been working with it for the past 2 years now. I have done Socket Programming in C, worked with the OpenGL library in C, and dealt with POSIX standards in C. Apart from this, i have a strong base in OOP(Java mainly), have done Prolog, UML, Verilog. I am greatly fascinated by Data Structures and Algorithms and Graphs and Networks. I have gone through the project description and i understand that we need to develop a tool similar to an existing tool (magic tool) but with better and more features, getting implemented for the overall program. Let me know if i got the target right. Also, could anyone here guide me to the resources and the exact classes/api of the existing code of the magic tool i need to refer for this? Or any other suggestions regarding how i could approach this project. Thanks a lot for the help! Awaiting a reply. Ritisha.* |

Dear Tux4Kids Team, I'm a French student in computer sciences ; at *E.N.S.I.M.A.G. *engineering school. I am very interesting in working on your project this summer, and especially on the idea of /Adapting Tux Typing to use the t4k_common library. / I would like to have some more specifics information about that, for instance the skills required to complete the project. Could you please tell me who can I ask about that points ? Is there someone in charge of that project ? /Yours faithfully/ -- Franck D.G. |

Hello I am second year student at computer science in Brazil, and I want to participate of the google summer of code 2012. I was looking on the list of projects about and I really got interested on the project "tux4kids". If possible I want to do it with two other colleagues of my class. Is there a problem if we work together? (only one will be registered on the GoSC, but let's divide the work). Are there many people interested in this project? Thank you very much for your attention. |

Sorry for the late reply. I was coding for an on campus coding competition. I thought of both the options but think creating an abstraction layer is better. Most probably there won't be any problems of not including a new platform. I'll submit the project application soon and request you to kindly guide me on any changes. Thanks.
