Justinas,

It is possible to build natively in Windows, but quite painful. I try to keep on top of the CMake chain, but as the released Windows build is cross-compiled with mingw-cross-env, it will probably be missing a few pieces.

I would like to work with Tux4Kids for Wallpaper Tool Project under GSoC
2012.

Mentioning more about myself- I have a strong background in C as i have
been working with it for the past 2 years now. I have done Socket
Programming in C, worked with the OpenGL library in C, and dealt with POSIX
standards in C. Apart from this, i have a strong base in OOP(Java mainly),
have done Prolog, UML, Verilog. I am greatly fascinated by Data Structures
and Algorithms and Graphs and Networks.

I have gone through the project description and i understand that we need
to develop a tool similar to an existing tool (magic tool) but with better
and more features, getting implemented for the overall program. Let me know
if i got the target right.

Also, could anyone here guide me to the resources and the exact classes/api
of the existing code of the magic tool i need to refer for this? Or any
other suggestions regarding how i could approach this project.

Sorry for the late reply. I was coding for an on campus coding competition.
I thought of both the options but think creating an abstraction layer is
better. Most probably there won't be any problems of not including a new
platform. I'll submit the project application soon and request you to
kindly guide me on any changes.
