Texniccenter crashes upon opening a tex file or project if the storage of recently opened files in Windows is disabled. To reproduce go to http://www.howtogeek.com/236711/how-to-turn-off-recent-items-and-frequent-places-in-windows-10/ and follow the steps in the section "Alternative: Turn Off Recen Items Through Group Policy Editor". To fix the creshes the policy needs to be set to "Not configured" My system: Win7 x64 and I could reproduce (and "fix") the error using the described steps. The error did not occur in previous alpha versions of the tool. It would be great if a future version would (soon) address this issue to enable the setting of the policy.
