Same thing for me. It doesn't work (crashes on build) on Windows 11
Hey Tino, Thanks for you reply. The first profile is exactly the one generated by the output wizard of TXC and is yielding this issue. It has worked on version 2.0 and overnight it stopped working. No clue what changed, redownloaded Sumatra and updated to 2.01 (which had just become available) but error persisted. Anything else you can think of that might have caused this? Only thing what changed - that I can think of - was a Windows 7 update and the installation of Eclipse and Java SE Runtime E...
I am having the same problem. Any updates?
TexnicCenter not working under Windows 11. Win 10 fine. It doesn't work at all with win 11.
Error , no se genera documentos en pdf
PDF FILE NOT GENERATED
no error and no output
I am also in the same morass. Windows updated from 10 to 11, and TexnicCenter crashes when opening files. Re-installed several times, same result. Installed on a small laptop with win 10. Works fine!
Webpage: Miktex Link is not working
Hope that developments continue... someday...
Anyone know remedies? My TexnicCenter stopped working from one day to another. Crashing when attempting to open or save files.
Same for me. The hint of disabling controlled file access in Windows Defender did not work (I have posted the results in the other thread as well).
Controlled Folder Access has been off on my machine. TeXnicCenter 2. 02 still crashing on almost every save on my Windows 10 home machine. Looks like nobody is able to address this issue. I also tried to switch Controlled Folder Access on and added permissions for TeXnicCenter, but this did not help as well.
This is a fantastic request. Did anybody actually considered implementing this?

tex\latex\koma-script\scrlfile.sty is mising
How to rectify the above mentioned issue.
pdflatex.exe did not succeed
Yes, I noticed this as well and it relates to the DDS server Acrobat uses. Since they enjoy changing it at least once I year I have to manually change it myself then as well, and its now very straight forward to find what server name to use. However, I believe this is an issue that lies with Adobe, and not TeXnic and I think the best way so solve this would be to simply find a better reader than Adobe. One that supports DDS or command line arguments and doesnt change them every darn year.
TexnicCenter does not connect to acrobat reader pdf. This problem has occurred many times before, usually corrected by changing the name of acroview in the viewer. This problem is becoming very tiresome
texnicCenter not connecting to pdf
To all who hate this bug as much as I did: Here is a solution/workaround: https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/49705/texniccenter-multiple-tabs-in-one-window-instead-of-multiple-instances-multipl/576089#576089
Yes, this is so EXTREMELY ANNOYING. I am considering changing the editor because of this bug, please FIX it! I am using Windows 10, fully patched (23.12.2020), and TEXnicCenter 2.02 Stable 64 Bit -- and as said: When ever I open a new tex file it incorrectly opens a new instance instead of a new tab.
I noticed the crashing correlates with the presence of Adobe's Creative Cloud bloatware processes in the background in my case. With them killed (all ~10 or so) and boom saving works again without administrator privileges and without crashing. Windows 10 20H2 here, texcniccenter 2.02 stable. I guess I'll create a batch file to run photoshop and others and kill all CC crap afterwards, I don't use their sync anyways.
Fatal Error
I had the same problem and deleting the faultive dictionnary worked !
Same problem. 2.02 stable version
Search in loop
I am having the same problem with v2.02(stable). Never crashed before I updated.
Files Explorer shows only main file
I've had the same problem. A new installation fixed it, but that's really inconvenient due to all the customisation and settings that get lost ...
Shortcut broken: magnify or reduce editor font size
TeXnicCenter crashes intermittently on save or build/view output
I have the same problem. No matter if I create a new project or open an existing one, TeXnicCenter crashes. I'm using texniccenter 2.02 Stable (64 bit) with Miktex. Is there anyone who can help with this problem?
TeXniccenter crashes when clicking "File->New->Project"
I was able to solve the issue following the suggestion given in another similar ticket: https://sourceforge.net/p/texniccenter/user-reports/1402/#18d6 You need to disable a windows setting to Show recently opened items in Jump lists, see attached screenshot. After disabling it, all operations with projects I tried were fine. Interestingly, you can re-enable immediately afterwards the setting, and existing projects are still working well. Only if you create a new project the the program keeps crashing...
I am experiencing the same problem as of 2019 with Windows 10 (Pro 10.018363) + Texniccenter (TC, 2.02 stable) + updated Miktex 2.9. Both 32 bit and 64 bit TC versions display the same behaviour. I do not encounter any other anomalies, except the sudden crash of TC when a project is open in any way (loading one from the program, open the program double clicking on a project, create a new project, create a project from active file). Description: File > New > Project: the program shuts down. Description:...

thanks alot , there should not be any space while naming the tex file.
Take a look here: https://github.com/MiKTeX/miktex/issues/324 This solved my problem. Deactivate WIndows Defender Option "Controlled Folder Access"

Same here, Win10, 64 bit. Does anyone have any idea how to prevent TXC2.02 from crashing?

Same problem.
Enable adding various items to the project tree
Try this hack suggest by u_fischer in this thread. % Assuming that your bib-file 'references.bib' is placed in you main latex folder \bibliography{references} % Just for texniccenter, will be 'disabled' in the next line \def\bibliography#1{} % Redefine \bibliography todo nothing \addbibresource{references.bib}
Support for outline-editing in the outline pane
Would be interested in that, too.

The same problem here... When I lunch TeXnicCenter, it takes very long to start. Afterwards, everything seems to work fine.
dear sir, my latex does not open in pdf format , when i open in pdf format .
Full Path Directory wont accept file name

Nope, same probelm with high end SSD on Lenovo X1Yoga (1st generation). It's only an issue with TeXnicCenter no other software.
That's a Windows 10 issue with older HDDs. Upgrade to SSD and start flying again!
unable to install package
I just had this happen to me! In the middle of working on an unsaved file, I accidentially hit the new project button, hit cancel, and lost all updates to the open file!
I have exactly the same problem, with Windows 10 on Lenovo X1 Carbon. I updated MikTeX and reinstalled and it did nothing. No solution ???
Pack and go feature
I have the same issue. Is there any solution in sight?
Exact same problem over here. It's not the Miktex. LatexCenter even when not doing anything is hogging major system resources all by itself, happened with the Windows Fall Creators Update (1709). Using a Lenovo X1 Thinkpad.

Try updating MikTex.
Same problem here... Dimitri.
I have the same problem , Viktor
A security policy setting (Active Directory) makes the application crash
Same here with Windows Server 2016.
TeXnicCenter hangs with Windows 10 Fall creators update?
would love to see that! i have only one windows vm and its just for texnic center. the linux alternatives dont come close in my opinion.
The same problem here. It is unrelated to the project itself since TeXnicCenter will crash if I save any change to a brand new project. The problem appeared over night, I did not modify anything concering LaTeX or TeXniccenter. It's not really a crash, but opening, saving and "analyzing project structure" takes several minutes, even with little projects
Same problem, still no fix.
same here
Remove all the built-in output profiles before importing my own .tco file.
I solved it by substituting "server: acroviewR17" with "server: acroviewR18" https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/250472/texniccenter-adobe-reader-dc
