It would be nice to be able to work with layers (calques en français) that can be optionnaly displayed.
Adding a layer menu in the menu bar to manage the layers, would open a window with a tick box to enable or disable the display of all the layers. By default, all layers should be visible.
Every element would be assoicated automatically to is own layer, as :
Wall
Doors and window
Furnitures
Measurement lines
Text
Ground textures...

If the features comes with a new version, opening a file from an old version should ask the user if he wants to automatically assign the elements of the projects to layers or if he preffers to keep the original project without the layer notion...

Levels are almost managed as layers in Sweet Home 3D.

I agree that the floor levels are more or less managed as layers. I am more talking about layers/ floor.
The purpose is to be able to remove (per floor level) in one click the layers that the user does not want to see. If you are working on walls , you my want to remove the furnitures, the measurment lines, from the display to get a more simple work view...
It is of course a "nice to have", and not really essential, but I feel this would give a more comfortable user experience.

Levels are also viewable or not...

    Emmanuel,

I agree levels can be viewable or not.
However, to use this for visbility management is somehow cumbersome. I personally use 5-7 layers per level and constantly switch their visibility on/off, depending on whom I talk to about the project and how the different objects are interacting (e.g. network with sockets, multimedia objects, switches/sensors, etc.). Based on the user communities I work with in forums and other projects, my perception is I am not even using more layers than average.

Could you please consider how visibility of several levels could be managed more easily. Not talking so much about technical features, but User experience/Usability.

    Many thanks, great stuff overall!
