Every plugin installed: (change_sqlpass, delete_move_next, select_range,
javascript_libs, custom_from, avelsieve)
PHP version: (php-5.4.10-1)
Web server Apache (httpd-2.2.3-65), lighttpd (lighttpd-1.4.31-1)
IMAP server (cyrus-imapd-2.4.16-1)
SMTP server (postfix-2.9.1-1)
OS and, if applicable, distribution (CentOS Linux 5.8 x64, kernel
2.6.18-308.24.1)

PHP was recently upgraded to PHP 5.4.  Squirrelmail upgraded to SVN
version 1.4.23 (from Dec 21, 2012).

It appears that after PHP upgrade the avelsieve plugin (avelsieve-1.9.9)
no longer functions.

The avelsieve web site suggests using this mailing list for primary
support for the plugin.

When the "Filters" link is clicked on from the main menu an empty blank
white screen is given.  The expected result is for a list of the
configured sieve rules to be displayed.

If PHP errors are turned on, the following errors are displayed:

These errors are displayed right after logging into squirrelmail, when the
main interface is displayed.

Please think about migrating to the Server Settings plugin, which is
actively maintained and should be able to do anything that the various
outdated SpamAssassin front end plugins can do.  There are plenty of
examples in the sample configuration files it comes with.  If you find
something that it cannot replicate, let me know.

Hello:

 

I've been researching this problem to no avail for sometime.  We use the
(very old) SpamAssassin plugin
(http://squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=146) with our Squirrelmail.
This plugin serves us well in terms of ease of use and we can connect it
easily to our mail server spamassassin.  The only issue that any time a user
makes a change (like adding an email to the blacklist/whitelist), all prior
changes are overwritten.  In the README, there is a note that this was a bug
but resolved.

 

Does anyone have any exp with this plugin and resolved this issue?  Or is
there an older thread regarding this plugin/issue that someone could point
me to?  Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

[SM-PLUGINS] compose_extras problem with ce_default_subject_warning

If compose_extras is installed and $ce_default_subject_warning = 1; .. when the user attempts to add an address by clicking Addresses, the subject warning pop-up displays. This should not happen. The plugin thinks the user is attempting to send a message when they're only adding an address.

user's password in qmailtoaster (qmail-vpopmail-mysql).
If I understand you need to install a plugin, which one should I install?

[SM-PLUGINS] unsafe image rules

Hi there, after upgrading from ubuntu server 12.04 to 12.10 I got problems with unsafe image
rules

if i click on "Always trust images from this sender" i get next
error message:

The requested URL 
/plugins/unsafe_image_rules/add.php&mailbox=INBOX&passed_id=8999&passed_ent_id=0&startMessage=1&sort=0
 was not found on this server.

the directry is still at the same place, I've tried
disabling and reenabling the plugin but it does not helps....

any clue?

Sorry, just for your information:

messages that are not html, erase the
"lines" where there is a word with accented characters.!!!


Another
problem is that at the answer the original massage is erased if there is an accented
character.

not the mail field, but only the name one and can not be edited. I tried editing the
"/var/lib/squirrelmail/data/an...@ch....abook", but the visualization results
in strange characters, I've tried converting the file from iso-8859-1 to utf8, but
nothing...


any idea of what could be happening, any help?

Hello all... 

I see that it's been (checking watch) about 7 years since this plugin was updated last but some of you may be happy to know that I have a new version sitting out in github and I'm looking for one more person to give it a run through.  I know it's working well.. and everything has been updated for the latest php/sqm and plugin guidelines but I'd like someone who isn't already familiar to give it a go so I can be sure the directions are ok.

You should review and become familiar with the techniques described here:

I have an email service with postfix + squirrelmail and its users are made

them can use the passwd command.

I installed the plugin Compatibility + Change_passwd to get the user to
change their password via the options menu of Squirrelmail. But it is not
working, whenever I login with a user and then go to any menu options
appears to me a blank page.

Jon,

  Your increasingly hostile attitude is disheartening.  I told you
twice that I was extremely busy, yet you treat me as if I am getting
paid to be attending to your needs at your whim.  You have no idea
what my other obligations are, and you have no place to put the kind
of expectations on me that you have.

  You should be working *with* me to provide the community with good
software.  Instead, even as soon as I requested some code changes,
your tone was adversarial.  I don't have any idea why that is (not
once did I treat you poorly and never did I refuse to unlock your
account), but it's misplaced and lacking of the respect that I deserve
both as a fellow human being and as someone who has put countless
hours into a product that you and others have derived much use from.

  It's immature and inappropriate to pester me and then, when you
can't seem to wait any longer, go calling me names in public and
deciding to deride the very product that you have so urgently felt you
wanted to contribute your plugin update for.

  I'll grab your update and put it up as time allows, but I will bid
you farewell and ask that you do not return if you cannot come back
with a more respectful attitude.

[SM-PLUGINS] Canadian Weather Plugin Updated

A user emailed me a short while ago that it didn't work with 1.4.22 and 
since I'd been lazy and hadn't updated my install from 1.4.17, I had no 
idea.  Well, I did, and there was (a bug), so I fixed it.

Unfortunately, Paul L is running squirrelmail like a little Napoleon and 
refuses to unlock my account so that I might update the now 
non-functional Canadian Weather plugin for you good folks.  Prior to 
reinstating my account, he requested a code review of my plugin.  I had 
no problem with that, despite it being an update rather than a new 
contribution, but, what the hey, have at it.  I've complied with all 
(but one) of his code critiques (which were, for the most part, minor 
nit-picks), yet my account remains closed and I've heard not a peep from 
him in a week.  Even to my request to remove the non-functional version 
has gone unanswered.

At this point, I have to say, I don't really care much anymore about 
squirrelmail.  I seldom use it as I tend to access my mail from either 
my smartphone or my t-bird client.  IMNSHO, it's getting kinda long in 
the tooth anyway.

So, I will offer you, the good folks who've come here for SM "stuff", my 
final update to the Canadian Weather plugin, version 3.3.0.  You may 
grab it from here: 
http://kronos.honk.org/~earlej/src/squirrelmail/can_weather_current.tar.gz. 
It is working with 1.4.22 and should work with the 1.5 series, though 
I've not tested it to verify that.

If someone wants to take over maintenance, please, feel free to do so.  
If someone else can get that blasted broken copy off the SM plugin 
website, I'd appreciate it - I hate having my name tied to, what amounts 
to, roadkill.

The Login Manager plugin already does what this plugin does and much,
much more.  I think it supports the OP's request, but if not, it can
be updated to do so.

What you are asking is beyond the scope of the plugin.  According to the 
squirrelmail plugin page the plugin was last updated in 2003, and the 
description is "To login with your email address as in virtusertable".

To add the functionality you request would require what I would consider 
to be a pretty massive rewrite of the plugin.

What might work for you instead is the "Ask User Info" plugin.
When a user logs in, this plugin checks if emailaddress/full name is not 
set, if not set prompts the user with the relevant options page.

We are not coders/programmers. We loaded our common-sense, said a prayer
which resulted in the resolution stated below

While following the suggestions, of Tomas K., and given that this concern
did not begin until we updated Squirrelmail and [not the plugin]. Based on
what we did to resolve this concern, we have come to the following
conclusion(s):

When the updated version of SM was installed, there appears to have been
some sort of update that the crippled plugin did not follow or otherwise
adjust to. It looks like this has taken place across two (2) version of the
avelsieve plugin, from 1.9.8 to the current version '1.9.9'. Within both
versions the following file: (line 164)

squirrelmail/plugins/avelsieve/include/html_rulestable.inc.php

needs to be updated or corrected from ...

session_unregister('comm');

--to--
sqsession_unregister('comm');

After the above change, the 'Filters' link for the avelsieve plugin began to
once again function properly.
