I am using the CLI commands through putty. Just to verify that my ssh commands are working. Been struggling to display utf8 chars in the results tab. I can copy the seemingly empty cells & paste elsewhere to see the actual chars. Chars appear fine in the "results as text" tab. Is this by design or is there a trick to unmask the chars in this view? --thx, Steve |

I have a query where I need to see more than the first 100 rows returned from the query. I've googled for this, and I've cleared the checkbox in "New Session Properties", and it's cleared in my current session properties, but when I run a query, it still says "Limited to 100 rows". Dear All, I’m trying to use Squirrel SQL for Greenplum database, I have the Greenplum plugin installed and I’m using PostgreSQL JDBC version 9.4.1206. When I try to connect to the database the connection is established successfully, but the SQL prompt doesn’t show up for very long time. I assume this is because SQuirreL SQL loads all the objects in all schemas. I tried to avoid this in the schema properties and choose not to load any objects from all schemas, but again when I need to check the objects and click on the objects tab it starts to load the objects and takes very long time. My questions, can you please help here: 1. Will this be a one time work which Squirrel SQL does? Or will it be repeated every time I connect to the database? 2. Is there a way to make this faster, because it is taking very long time. Thanks, Sathesh |

Hi John, Thanks for the replies. I did try changing the HOSTNAME to the IP address but that did not help. Actually I just got it to work. I kept googling and found this solution: In the ALIAS I modified the URL value where after the DB name I added: ?sslmode=require That allowed me to access the DB on the remote vendor server without issue since I cannot make any modifications to that server. This did the trick. Hopefully if someone else runs into this same issue this may help. Thanks and have a great weekend. I forgot to mention that I'm on Windows 10. The Postgresql box is a VENDOR box and I cannot make any changes there. I got this same error in pgAdmin III but there was another setting under the ADVANCED tab called Host Address where I entered the IP address and then I was able to access the server without issue. Thanks. Hi Guys I have an issue with Squirrel while running a query if I undock my Lenovo t450 laptop with windows 10, squirrel disappears as if it were never opened. No quit message, no errors, just completely gone. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling squirrel but the problem persists. Any idea? |

Hi! If I first run the command SET search_path TO my_schema; Then i can use the query builder to create my left join query (its pretty big so the query builder makes it much easier). That work. But if I copy the query from the query builder to the SQL command window it fail despite the use of search path?? I need to copy the query from the query builder to the SQL command so I can modify it, I need to use GROUP BY that the query builder don't seem to support. Is there a way I can make the output SQL in the query builder to include schema names, or is there a way I can use set search path to work when I run join tables? (I can select rows from individual tables after using search_path but when i use them in a join query, it fails. Im logged on as admin user). Best regards |
