I have just downloaded Squirrel SQL and am trying to read the Data_Type  as
displayed.  For example, TYPE_NAME is BIT, the DATA_TYPE is -7[BIT], or for

[Squirrel-sql-users] 'int4' to datatype 'uint2' failed

Hi Folks
I am getting a ....

      java.sql.SQLException: [J0014] Return code is -402. [A046] The conversion from datatype 'int4' to datatype 'uint2' failed..
      java.lang.NullPointerException


error.   I know that it is baecause data types are slightly different.  Trouble is it gives me no indication where issue is coming from.
My WHERE clause...

      WHERE (c.PAT_PERSON_NUM    = 428896 )

Runs just fine.  But when I change the = sign to > is when I get the above error.   I suspect that the error
Is in another line  where a timestamp is compared to a quasi-timestamp folumn I have that does not have the same
Precision in the mantissa portion of the timestamp  0.0 vs. 0.000000.

Any suggestions ?

Can I activate more verbose info in the run/error log window ?

[Squirrel-sql-users] Driver parameters

I am testing a new release of the OpenText LCS JDBC driver.
This driver depends on some extra parameters.
If I use the ?param=value&param=value syntax on the URL, I get a connection 
but if I try setting the parameters via the Driver Parameters page in my 
Alias, the values seem to be ignored (I have checked the Use Parameters box).

Is there some trick to using the Driver Parameters page?

(Previous versions of this driver did not require extra parameters and work 
perfectly with Squirrel.)

I'm trying again to solve this issue.

I've realized that - at least now - setting the SQL results to editable
table doesn't work anymore. I remember that, if set, clicking on a table in
the SQL results allowed to change the content (a text cursor appeared).
This is no more the case.
This might be related to the printing problem?

[Squirrel-sql-users] Content tab failes for jtds because column names not escaped

The Content tab is empty for some of the tables I am exploring - it appears
to be because those tables have columns named with a reserved word and
therefore need to have SQL Server square brackets around them - e.g. if the
column name is 'key' then it needs to referred to as [key]

I downloaded jdk1.7.0_79 64 bit and squirrel-sql-3.7-standard.jar.
I add jdk1.7.0_79/bin to the PATH and try to run squirrel I receive an error about java.awt.Toolkit.

Starting today (before a Java update 8.73 that I tried to install to fix the issue) whenever I start Squirrel the following dialogue pops up after 10-15 seconds:

Any idea what is wrong?

As I wrote below, what worked for me was changing from Table to Editable
table the output section for SQL results. Even if the guide says that it
should work either way (Table or Editable table). Don't know if this is a
doc bug or just me doing something wrong.

Hi all
I'm trying to print the results of a query.
Whatever the number of rows in the results, my printer prints only one single blank page.
I tried both:
1. right-click on results and click on print, without first selecting
2. select all and then click on print
None of them work.
What is surprising is that in another test query I managed to print (without selecting first).
I wonder why the printing behaviour changes depending on the query...
Any idea what might be the problem?
I'm using squirrel-sql-snapshot-20160126_2241 on Fedora 23.

It does happen also in the Query builder, not only in the SQL editor.
Each time I launch SquirrelSQL, I must run the command "SET SCHEMA..." in
the SQL editor and then the queries will work as expected.
This is a bit annoying, especially if I want SquirrelSQL to be used by
other people.

What I'm trying to do now is executing the "SET SCHEMA.." at startup.
I hoped that the keep-alive connection setting in the alias properties
could help, but it didn't.

Hi folks

In my session properties' object tree I've put the name of the schema I
want to load in "Schema include". So every time I open a session only that
schema is included.

I supposed that I should not need to set the schema in the SQL editor when
running a query.
But it seems that the set command is needed _only the first time a query is
run_. If I open a file without the set command, it doesn't work at first;
if i add it it works; if I remove it it keeps working within the current
session.

Is it sensible?

I should conclude that I must keep the set command in my query files?
SET SCHEMA schema_name;

Hi all

I'm trying to print the results of a query.
Whatever the number of rows in the results, my printer prints only one
single blank page.

I tried both:

1. right-click on results and click on print, without first selecting
2. select all and then click on print

None of them work.

What is surprising is that in another test query I managed to print
(without selecting first).
I wonder why the printing behaviour changes depending on the query...

Any idea what might be the problem?
