I Guess You read what you wanted to see instead of what it says:=20 There is an updated translation, not a chart. I am updating the European Chart section at the moment, but do not know if Norway uses another kind of scheme than Germany or Holland for example. Holland is done, Germany on the way, once the people in the EU make up their minds we=20 MIGHT end up with a European Standard Scheme. They should look at Canada, ;-) Adding a customized chart is quite simple once you have stumbled upon it, if you have an existing scheme to start from: Open the *_chart.sql in /var/www/html/sql-ledger/sql or somewhere similar in your favourite text editor and off you go ;-) Good luck,=20 Paul > -----Original Message----- > From: sql...@sq...=20 > [mailto:sql...@sq...] On Behalf Of=20 > Bj=F8rn Rasmussen > Sent: donderdag 4 april 2002 23:54 > To: sql...@sq... > Subject: [SL] Chart of Accounts for Norway >=20 >=20 > Hi! >=20 > I was happy when I saw there where a Norwegian Chart of Accounts for=20 > SQL-Ledger version 1.8.3. >=20 >=20 > From the SQL-Ledger's web-page: >=20 > SQL-Ledger Accounting News=20 > Mar. 11, 2002 > =20 > 12. hi there, i've successfully installed SL on debian - i think the instructions are not quite right so i made some notes - i'm in a rush at the moment but i'll attach the notes as they are - if they need correcting then please do so and post them up. i run woody as far as i remember i used standard packages including postgresql. the notes are originally from the sql-ledger install instructions - my added comments are after the '#' marks ----------------------------------8<------------------------------------ Debian Installation unpack sql-ledger into /var/www/sql-ledger install postgresql (Dselect) install apache # this did not seem to be necessary install libpg-dev (Dselect) # these were the debina packages i installed libdib-perl libdbd-pg-perl libpgperl modify /etc/postgresql/postmaster.init # should be /etc/postgresql/postmaster.conf PGALLOWTCPIP=yes PGPORT=5432 # this produced an error when restarting postgres - i left it out cos this port seems to be the default anyway. create a user for managing SQL-Ledger databases from root su postgres $ createuser name of user- (create a postgres user who is also a Linux user this user will be an account manager. Upgrading perl and postgres solved the problem, which is somehow strange because both were "recent" (younger than 10 months) and already installed from RPMs (only apache had a strange home-made compilation/configuration)... So thanks again Klavs and everybody who helped, and for Tom, you can find the packages at rpmfind.net, I downloaded the packages called "RedHat 7.2 Updates for i386" to have the latest version of everything, except for postgres I downloaded the packages from "RawHide 1.0". Also, be sure to download perl-DBD-Pg and perl-DBI. Once more, thank you! Julien |

hi omar, its *upgrading* the libraries/packages which may cause problems. on internet facing servers it is necessary to install security updates - and on workstations you obviously want the latest version of apps - but i agree - if the server is a print/file/etc server then it may not need updating and therefore can be left in peace, also - whilst we're on the subject - it is possible to update ALL the packages on a debian m/c with #apt-get update // to update the list of packages and #apt-get upgrade // to fetch, install and configure all packages on the m/c. i've not used RH for a while so i don't know - but - is this possible on RH? kev bailey BTW i know of servers which run these commands every night as a cron job so the servers are always up to date. Unfortunately I'm kinda "locked" for the apache and postgresql for various configuration reasons (notably drivers to postgres for an older systems which seem to work only with 7.0.x). Since this is an internal server it was not so critical to update to newer versions. I'll try it on a different one though, where I can update those. > Try running the perl-script from the command prompt and see if you get > any error messages.. I am still running the version before last for SL on a woody box. I have no problem so far. I will attempt to update my system tonight and will email you. If your problem persist, I will try my best to assist you. Make sure you have the correct version of Postgressql installed. I'm running RedHat 7.2, Perl 5.6.1 (they upgraded to it - look in
updates), apache 1.3.22 (you should upgrade) and postgresql 7.2 - all
from redhat rpms.

your welcome.
The response you get in your apache logs, just means that the perl script d=
oesn't respond with correct html.
Try running the perl-script from the command prompt and see if you get
any error messages.. (this is the problem with cgi-perl - error messages
are thrown away). Otherwise you could install mod_perl module - just for
a while, mod-perl cathes the errormsgs and logs them to apache's
errorlog - because the perl is embedded in the apache process..(be aware
that mod_perl might cause problems with sql-ledger - atleast on the
second run of a perl-script :-)=20

Thanks Dieter. I now have the radio button for latex showing. Next: whan I try to print an invoice, I get this: Error! latex : 1017868610.invoice.tex This occurs in either pdf or postscript, whether I send it to the printer or the screen. I did chown -R apache.apache /usr/local/sql-ledgers, so the permissions are correct within the program root directory. I take it this is a LaTex error? Thanks again for the pointer. BTW- sending clients emails of the invoices is sweet. To enable latex you must set $latex = 1 in sql-ledger.conf. Dieter Simader http://www.sql-ledger.org (780) 472-8161 DWS Systems Inc. Hi Julien,
I just installed sql-ledger too.. I found that the following add-on to
the readme would have gotten me through the process:
If you just installed postgresql (as rpm only?) then do:
createuser sqlledger -W
> say yes to both questions and select a password.
edit /etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql (RH/MDK specific)
so that the pg_ctl gets an extra option "-o -i" to tell postmaster
process to listen on standard tcp port 5432.
edit /var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_hba.conf and add line=20
> host all 127.0.0.1 255.255.255.255 password
(this works if your httpd and postgresql are on the same server
otherwise put your webservers IP instead of 127.0.0.1)
I had done all the other stuff, mentioned in the readme.
After this, I could log in create a new dataset and a user for this
dataset and voila.
I hope it helps..

i also have a server in 5.2 up for over three years, havent touched it since setting it up. the problem of dependencies arises when continually installing new software and upgrading the old kg On Tuesday 02 April 2002 00:26, Omar BaheyEldin wrote: > I have redhat 5.2 installed on a server for about three years or more , and > this server does not even have a keyboard, > nobody have "touched" it for more than three years > > At 07:57 Õ 01/04/02 +0530, Kenneth Gonsalves wrote: > >this was a problem in rh 5.2 - have you heard similar reports on 6.2 and > > 7.2? kg > > > >On Sunday 31 March 2002 19:52, kevin bailey wrote: > > > hi omar, > > > > > > might be time to check out debian if you are going to reinstall - i > > > found that after RH has been installed for a year or so the > > > dependencies get mixed up and become so much of a mess that further RPM > > > installation becomes impossible. > > _________________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com |

I'll try to be more precise: The script runs for this: - getting the "login screen" (text inputs for username and password) - entering a wrong username and/or password (normal error message) - getting the "admin login screen" (password input) - getting to the basic admin screen where you can add/remove users - change admin password - go to the "Pg Database Administration" screen But if I: - try to login as a valid user - click on "Create Dataset" or "Delete Dataset" (with various user, password, etc. and also with and without database created in postgres) I get an Internal Server Error: Unknown error Compilation failed in require at /usr/local/sql-ledger/admin.pl line 86. [Tue Apr 2 12:19:44 2002] [error] [client 192.168.1.103] Premature end of script headers: /usr/local/sql-ledger/admin.pl So therefore I cannot "enter" into the application (as a user) and try things out. Julien, You are condradicting yourself. Does admin.pl run or not? The only other way to add a user to the members file is to add one with a text editor. To start from scratch, delete all the files in the users directory. Then load admin.pl Dieter Simader http://www.sql-ledger.org (780) 472-8161 DWS Systems Inc.
