When following the windows installation instructions, with the same software versions (Apache, ActivePerl, Postgresql) as mentioned in those instructions, the step of installing DBD-Pg does not work. The SL-download website shows a link to 'DBD-Pg Drivers for various perl versions', which is a pgFoundry page. This pages shows i.e. DBD-Pg-1.49-5.6.tar.gz and DBD-Pg-1.49-5.6*s*.tar.gz I dont know what's the difference between both s and non-s types of this version. Further more, the page shows DBD-Pg-5.6.ppd and DBD-Pg-5.6s.ppd There is no clear indication what to do with the tar.gz and ppd files, at least I couldn't find it. I tried several locations for the ppd file, but each time I receive the error message Error installing package 'DBD-Pg': could not locate a PPD file for package DBD-Pg Dieter, could you please update the windows installation istructions, in the meantime, anyone, please post a working method for installing DBD-Pg I tried (see my previous post today) but ended up with errors. After installation, I receive an error message when trying to create a data set: install_driver(Pg) failed: Can't load 'C:/Perl/site/lib/auto/DBD/Pg/Pg.dll' for module DBD::Pg: load_file:The specified module could not be found at C:/Perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 206.\r, referer: http://wz1:8080/sql-ledger/admin.pl<http://wz/owa/pre...@gm.../redir.aspx?URL=http%3a%2f%2fwz1%3a8080%2fsql-ledger%2fadmin.pl> The Pg.dll is present in the location mentioned in the error message, so I wonder why it cant be loaded. I have added c:\perl\site\lib\auto\DBD\Pg\ to the Windows path, but that did not help. Can someone please assist me in this, Thank you Prem. |

Dieter, I have two feature requests (I use 2.8.2): in the Cash->Receipt Module I would like, if I change the customer on the pulldown to automatically re-draw (as in the invoice screen), and then display with the open invoices for that customer. Saves a few clicks :-)-O When I use the wildcart parts/service in the invoice, I would like to have on the lines that are shown in the "Select Items" Screen, also a column for the quantity that would be taken back to the invoice so I don't have to add the quantity there and hit update. Saves another few clicks :-)-O Possible? el |

Dunc, I have founbd an application called PHProjekt. It can do documeny management, time management, project management and many other things. It can also be set up to use Postgres, which allows you to take advantage of infrastructure which is already installed. David C. Dunc, The document management side of PHProjekt is a simple document repository. It is not integrated into SQL-Ledger in any way. It is originally designed to be a tool for co-operative development activities. I originally started using it for is calendering function. I use this to track my time for billing purposes. Because of the history of PHProjekt it is multiuser, and therefore multi group. The document management aspect supports multiple folders with user and group access permissions.Documents can be in any format. David C. Hi, Ledger Browser Addon is a simple perl script which allows you to browse your sql-ledger tables directly through browser. You can drill-down to detail tables from master tables. You can also specify the criteria for dates, customer/vendor name which is applied where applicable. Better than phppgadmin for browsing data or adhoc reporting. Easily customisable with new table definitions. Download free: http://www.ledger123.com/ Released under GPL. Regards Armaghan |

Hi, i was browsing the internet and find that creating a new report and puti it under /usr/local/sql-ledger/templates/user/name-of-new-report.html is the way to add a new report. Is this true??? is there a way to add a new field to the client information, for example, add number of car id. and later can check the quotations searching by this field?? thanks |

I realize that SQL-Ledger doesn't do document management (it would be nice if it did, or there were hooks to another app that did), but I am in need of a system and I thought I'd ask what others on the list were using. Does anyone have a document management system in place? Any open source apps out there that are any good? Thanks in advance, Dunc |

Hi All I'm trying to get a set of data out in the form of a price list but I'm having trouble and I hope someone can help. I have five pricegroups, COD, Late, Regular, Established and Preferred. The 'sell price' of the item is equivalent to 'regular'. Late is plus 10% and COD is plus 15% while Established is - 10% and Preferred is -15%. Each item in the database has five prices assigned to it relating to these groups. I have a whole series of groups such as Telephone, Copier, POS, Industrial. I can print a price list of all the items in group Telephone through 'goods and services/reports/all items' but only at the 'sell price' there is no option to select what pricegroup. I can go 'AR/Customers/reports/search' enter a customer name, when the search returns I can select the customer and enter 'edit customer' which has an option of 'price list' but it doesn't give me an option to select pricegroup either. What I want to do is print a price list of all the telephone items for company XYZ who are on 'established' pricing. Is there a way to do this? Jeff Roberts JR Electronics |

Hi there, I am doing some work for a client modifying templates. A few of questions: 1) Is it possible to put the salesperson's (<%employee%> telephone number in as a variable? I could not find anything in the manual for this other than the company phone number (other than customer and ship to that is) 2) I have built up a letterhead with address details etc in it and I am having trouble getting image into table. What have I done wrong? Refer code below. 3) How can I get the table to take up the whole width of the page? 4) I wanted to use the <%address%> variable in the letterhead but comes out all in one row even though there are a number of lines in the entry. Can I get it printing as it has been entered into the system? 5) Is there a better way of doing this? tia W <letterhead.tex> \begin{tabular}{lr} \multirow{2}includegraphics[scale=0.2]{../<%templates%>/logo}& Tel <%tel%> (International)\\ & Fax <%fax%> (International)\\ <%address%>\\ &Tel 1234 34 1234 (local)\\ &Fax 1234 34 1234 (local)\\ Relationship Manager&<%employee%> - <%tel%>\\ \end{tabular} </letterhead.tex> |

I agree ... making you own 'money' is definitely a better idea than gift vouchers ... for those in Canada, look no further than Canadian Tire - the old Scot on the store's money is probably just as recognised as any of the PMs on the National currency. Issuing this type of 'currency' is similar to issuing a debt note (i.e. bonds), but without the interest. You record the redemption value (face value) of the issued certificates (bills) as a liability against the company. As this money is taken out of circulation, you retire the dept against the company (if you choose not to re- circulate the bills/certificates). Transferring un-redeemed G.V.s from the liability account to income may (will) attract tax. (The taxman always wants his due.) An aside on the issues of G.V.s and tracking same. You may want to track outside of the accounting system redemption may range over fiscal years and become difficult to track. A simple method is to have a serially numbered multi-part form (duplicate or triplicate) with a stiffer, fancier first sheet for the "amount" and a validating name or initial (it is "cash") to be added at the time of sale with the purchaser filling in the "name" and "from"at their leisure. A second copy with or w/o the sales receipt number on it is added to the day's cash receipts (establishing an audit trail ) the duplicate G.V.is for tracking and anti-fraud -alteration purposes. An alternative G.V.is to use read-made selected denomination certificates, but I prefer the former for several reasons (can discuss offline) Hope this helps. By looking at a liability account I will see how much has been given away/redeemed. I still need to know which voucher has been redeemed. At this stage giving the sale the same invoice number as the voucher is probably the way. George, As I indicated in my post on Friday, and others expressed much more eloquently, gift cards/vouchers and the like are simply a means of 'capturing' a future sale ... you trade a voucher for a $20 bill. This puts the $20 bill in your bank account, but also puts a liability against your books as the voucher/gift card can be redeemed at some future point in exchange for goods or services provided by the business. If you want, you can think of the voucher as a contract for the future delivery of a good or service ... but it is not a sale. There is no sale until the voucher is redeemed ... so no GST/HST (or any other VAT) to be remitted. If you are issuing vouchers that have an expiration, then there will be some additional accounting to remove the liability when the voucher expires (mechanically this is quite similar to what happens to a corporation when stock options expire), but there will not be any VAT to remit in this instance. Now I have to figure out how to track them. I will be able to see how much of the gift vouchers' value has been redeemed but how do I know which ones? I could search for the voucher number presented to my by the cutomer and then either re-post the original invoice with a note attached to it (no good) or I could create a new invoice with the same number as the voucher number for the goods purchased. Actually could I sell vouchers as normal tax invoices (with GST) and then if they are redeemed create a new invoice with the same number and a negative amount to the value of the voucher? (plus anything extra) If they are not redeemed then I would simply keep them as sales. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express > Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take > control of your XML. How do you print the pricegroup for a particular customer on Latex Templates? I have tried <%pricegroup%> on a Pick List to no avail. Regards, skebrown |
