Yes, it looks like the namespace handler being used is the
LangNamespaceHandler from the scriptiong support.

This could be a side effect of our new namespace handler for dynamic
languages (the "lang:" namespace).

However, I can't reproduce this: I can run all sorts of application contexts
nicely without groovy.jar on my classpath, until I actually start using the
Groovy support.

Could you please try to track down the root cause of the
NoClassDefFoundError that you experienced?

Hi, guys.

I am posting as I have a challenge these days regarding remoting based on
the SimpleRemoteStatelessSessionPro xyFactoryBean. I have a client
application proxying through this class to remote jvms exposing SLSBs. The
problem relates to the application servers hosting the EJBs and their
availability - sometimes the remote VMs are restarted. This is not a proble=
m
for any of the Weblogic-based VMs but one instance is running on an old
JBoss instance (3.0.4 running jdk1.4.1_01) - which is troublesome.

If the remote JBoss VM is restarted at some point, the JBoss instance will
propagate java.rmi.NoSuchObjectExceptions to the client until both the
server and client VMs are restarted. Allegedly, this happens because when
the JBoss InitialContext implementation holds hard references to the server
class and these references can be invalidated i.e. by restarts (hence the
NoSuchObjectExceptions).

My Spring-managed bean is defined as follows (some property-file refs were
hardcoded and class-names were obfuscated in the snippet):

If I'm not completely mistaken, a workaround of the problem at hand would b=

to define the bean as a prototype/non-singleton, i.e. singleton=3D"false".
While this would not be optimal with regards to performance in remote
invocations for that specific EJB, this  approach should definetely solve
the actual problem.

Am I correct in my assumptions that this would cause new lookups for all
remote invocations thus resolving the problem?

Yes, it's been explicitly turned non-final (see the changelog) to allow for
intercepting the entire form request handling. This has been requested by

The plan is to release 2.0 M4 in the course of this week, with 2.0 RC1
following in early May. A 1.2.8 release will happen inbetween.

For the time being, I recommend to use the most recent 2.0 milestone in
development projects. The upgrade to 2.0 RC1/final will be seamless.

Tests should continue to run on Java 1.3 and 1.4 with certain tests  
being skipped as appropriate. I fixed the AspectJAutoProxyCreator  
issue earlier this week so it should now work in CVS HEAD.

classpath and cacao/jamvm), I noticed that some tests are no more 
working on java 1.4 (even Sun) because of some java 5 specificities with 
this error : Unable to register AspectJ AutoProxyCreator. Cannot find 
class 
[org.springframework.aop.aspectj.autoproxy.AspectJAutoProxyCreator]. Are 
you running on Java 5.0+?
  Is this situation temporary or will the minimum version of java needed 
to run tests will be raised to Java 5.0 ?
  As a side note, with the cvs version of GNU classpath and cacao, any 
tests running on Sun jre 1.4 also work, excepted jasper related test (by 
lacking of some awt method implementation) and ClassUtilsTests (because 
of a minor issue on GNU classpath side which is worked on).

This problem is caused (from my point of view) by the fact, that emty strin=
g
array is not parsed in webflow request parameters parsing code. All this
time I am working with my patched webflow version, where I have fixed this
bug. Now I will again fix this bug in my local webflow version.

that the flow is created simultaneously in two request processing threads

[Springframework-developer] GenericsHelper -- too simple

The class "org.springframework.core.GenericsHelper" is sometimes too simple.
The test "GenericsHelperTest" explains when it is too simple. The class
"TypeVariableExtractor" explained in "TypeVariableExtractorTest" can be used
as engine class to realize some methods of GenericsHelper.
