Hi guys, There's a bug in Spring 2.0 preventing developers to assign property editors to bean properties WITHOUT specifying the required class. The bug should be in PropertyEditorRegistrySupport.CustomEditorHolder. Moreover, it seems related to the following issue: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/spring/browse/SPR-2364 I think it is rather critical because it breaks some Spring Modules code and samples. I'm a Spring Modules committer and I could find some work around, but it would be great if the bug were fixed. Please let me know. Thanks, Cheers, Sergio B. -- Sergio Bossa Software analyst and developer, blogger and Open Source enthusiast. Blogging on: http://sbtourist.blogspot.com |

Dear Australian Java Community Just a quick note to let you know that next month we are holding Spring User Group meetings in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane: Sydney, Mon 6 November 2006 - see http://tinyurl.com/yhtwe3 Brisbane, Wed 8 November 2006 - see http://tinyurl.com/yya6sz Melbourne, Mon 20 November 2006 - see http://tinyurl.com/swu24 The founder of Spring, Rod Johnson, will be visiting Australia during November and will be presenting at the meetings. Rod's session is titled "What's New and Cool in Spring 2.0", and covers XML extensibility, AOP improvements, dynamic languages (Groovy, JRuby etc), JPA integration etc. This is a great opportunity for both experienced Spring users and evaluating users to ask questions about Spring's new features, upgrade path, roadmap, standards support and anything else of interest. All Spring User Group meetings are free to attend and there is no requirement to be a member. Light refreshments and lucky door prizes are also provided. Last time Rod spoke at one of our User Group Meetings well over 200 people came along, so places are strictly limited. Please register early to avoid disappointment (and to help finalize catering). If you'd like to find out more or register, please use the city-specific URLs listed above. I look forward to seeing you there. Best regards Ben Alex Regional Director, Australasia Interface21 - Spring from the Source http://www.interface21.com |

The Spring docs nicely break chapters out into separate files, with entity refs in the index. I've read all of the posts on Docbook, and it seems most of you are using XmlMind. The tool is really growing on me. But when I open the index.xml, XmlMind resolves all entity refs immediately, pulling the full guide into a single document. Saving replaces the "modular" index with the all-in-one version. My question is how are you dealing with this usin XmlMind (or is there another tool you use? Vex seems stale and doesn't appear to work anymore). Do you edit the "aggregator pages" by hand, and only use XmlMind for the "leaf" pages? It looks like that messes up cross referencing though - it seems every document must include entity refs to pages it needs to cross reference (though I might be wrong - just learning). Anyway, if any docbook veterans have any pointers, they'd be much appreciated. The Spring docs are beautiful, and I'd like to understand how they're done. |
